Lennert Tyberghein
Head of Data Centre
Lennert Tyberghein is manager of the Data Centre of the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ). Within international networks, the Data Centre participates in the development of data infrastructures and is heavily involved in the management of international e-infrastructures: the European Marine Observation and Data network (EMODnet Biology and Central Portal), the LifeWatch Taxonomic Backbone and data systems, the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS), the Ocean Biogeographic Information System (EurOBIS), Marine Regions and the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
Lennert has a background in Geography (MSc), Marine and Lacustrine Sciences (MSc) and Marine Biology (PhD) and has professional experience in data management. He has a particular interest in Open Data and Open Science in general.
