Details RESEARCH GROUP : Biodiversity and toxicology (CMKDK)

Expertise:

The research is based on the study of invertebrates, specifically free-living flatworms (Platyhelminthes). Following research topics are central: 1. Biodiversity, including cryptic biodiversity. 2. Fylogeny en fylogeography, based on molecular and morphological characteristics 3. Effects of pollution  (in particular heavy metals) on different aspects of the biology of turbellarians: regeneration and stem cell dynamics, life history parameters, morphology, … 4. Molecular and cellular effects of pollution (in particular heavy metals).
